


Born into a home full of early music, Barbara Hünninger soon joins the family ensemble with both the viola da gamba and the baroque cello.
She starts her musical training in Basel (CH) on the cello and moves then to Lyon (FR) to study viola da gamba with Marianne Muller at the CNSMD (Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse). After obtaining her master’s degree with the highest distinction, she continues her music studies in Brussels (BE) in the baroque cello class of Hervé Douchy. In 2022, Barbara graduates from the CRB (Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles) with a master’s degree. In the same year, she also receives a pedagogical diploma from the IMEP (Institut Royal de Musique et de Pédagogie) in Namur (BE).
Barbara has played concerts in Belgium and abroad with various ensembles including Ensemble 0, Les Kapsber’girls, Archipel Consort, Les Abbagliati, La Cetra d’Orfeo, Hathor Consort or Les Moments Musicaux de la Cacharel. She organizes music courses and private lessons and works since 2022 as a gamba teacher in the SLAC (Stad Leuven Academy and Conservatory) and the Music Academy of Schoten.
